Holiday Cheer!
Our classroom was filled with new faces as we counted down to our winter break. We had a guest reader almost every day who came to share Christmas and other holiday stories with us! Many of those guests were past Kipps teachers and students. It was fun for the kids to meet them and hear stories from people who aren't their everyday teacher! THANK YOU to everyone who took time out of their very busy schedules to read to us!
Former Kipps fifth grade teacher, Bev Shull, came in a read The Merit Badge by Katherine Paterson. It tied in perfectly with our latest novel and our trip to Warm Hearth at the end of that week! Former Kipps fifth grade teacher and principal, Brian Kitts, read several stories. I think the kids' most favorite came from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes! | Former first grade teacher and Radford University professor, Carol Bland, read several stories including A Very Marley Christmas by John Grogan. Leslie Roberson, former Kipps PE teacher, came in and read The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. |
